Since his 2015 start at The Solar Foundation (now merged with IREC), Ed has overseen $20 million in awards in support of renewable energy. His current focus includes Charging Smart and IREC’s Puerto Rico work. He leads Charging Smart, a DOE funded program to help local governments facilitate the growth of electric vehicles (EV) and EV charging. In 2023, he co-authored the Sustainable Energy Action Committee EV Charging Working Group report, Planning and Zoning Guidance for Electric Vehicle Charger Deployment. For the American Cities Climate Challenge, he led efforts to support the development of EV-ready ordinances in cities such as Indianapolis and St. Louis. He holds two master’s degrees from the University of Virginia, including an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.
