Long Dwell-Tme DC-coupled Bi-directional DC EVSE and Their Utility in DC Microgrid Applications
Tuesday, September 10, 2024
4:30 PM – 4:55 PM PT
Location: Grid Edge Theater, Booth #A61027, Hall A, ACC
The increasing adoption among residential and light industrial energy users of clean energy solutions like photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, combined with efficient DC-coupled battery storage and integration into DC and hybrid microgrids, offers a new opportunity for EV drivers to explore the use of DC-coupled EVSE architecture that can support efficient charging with on-premises clean solar energy and avoid inefficient AC/DC conversions. This session will highlight the use of DC-coupled EVSE as a sustainable alternative to overnight charging, which often relies on fossil fuels. It will specifically explore how residential and light commercial users can benefit from long-dwell time DC EVSE architectures, such as those developed by Enteligent, to efficiently use on-site solar power for EV charging while at work, school, or shopping.
