This presentation describes the challenges developing a control philosophy for the renewable generation and the energy storage facilities in a green hydrogen complex. The presentation first describes the paradigm shift from load-following operation to generation-following operation which is necessary to maximize the production of hydrogen from the available renewable generation and stored energy. The presentation then describes the required tools and processes necessary for the scheduling of available renewable generation and stored energy to optimize the hydrogen production objectives. Finally, the presentation describes the different operating modes for the complex including the role of each of the elements in it.
