This session introduces an innovative game-based format designed to foster open-mindedness and facilitate the development of effective land use conflict strategies. During this interactive session, participants will be assigned specific personas and roles, such as developers, community representatives, environmental NGOs, or county commissioners. Each participant will receive an envelope containing detailed information about their assigned role, encouraging immersive engagement. Through simulated negotiations centered around proposed projects, this approach encourages empathy, understanding, and constructive dialogue among stakeholders with diverse interests. By embodying different perspectives, attendees will gain valuable insights into the complexities of land use issues, promoting collaboration towards mutually beneficial solutions.
