Richard Lawrence is a Sr. Program Director at The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). In this role, he leads the Solar Ready Vets Network, a U.S. Department of Energy funded program that connects military veterans and transitioning service members with training, certifications, apprenticeships, and jobs in the solar industry; and the Apprenticeships in Clean Energy (ACE) Network, a U.S. Department of Labor Industry Intermediary contract to expand Registered Apprenticseship opportunities across the clean energy industry. Mr. Lawrence earned a B.S. degree in science education from Florida State University, and a M.S. degree in environmental education from Lesley University through the field-based Audubon Expedition Institute program. Since 2002, he has focused his career on renewable energy education, training, workforce development, standards, and quality assurance.
