Christopher Kuhl | Director of Sales – Midwest / Wärtsilä Energy Solutions
Chris is a 20+ year veteran of the power distribution, battery, energy storage system and micro grid technology space. He joined Wärtsilä in this new role for the company in late Oct of 2017 a few months after the completion of the acquisition of Greensmith Energy. He’s working with IOU’s, IPP’s and other utility-sector providers for new project development efforts of energy storage, micro grids and hybrid generation projects, including those with the Wärtsilä line of large-scale reciprocating engines. Previously, he was the Director of Business Development for Energy Storage for Edison Energy, the Chicago-based deregulated project development unit of Edison International. The primary focus of the unit is to deploy distributed resources for C&I behind-the-meter (BTM) locations and develop distribution connected, utility-scale projects for rural electric co-ops. Chris brings the more than over 20 years of battery and power system sales, global market development and product launch experience from various OEM’s like Johnson Controls, Eaton Electrical, Northern Power Systems and EnSync Energy to these opportunities. Chris earned his BA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 1993 and his MBA also from UW – Milwaukee in 2009.
