John Daniel is a Regional Technical Manager for Hitachi Energy’s Grid Edge Solutions covering North America.
John joined Hitachi Energy in 1998 and has held a variety of research, engineering, management, and sales positions within the company. Prior to his current responsibilities, he worked in ETI (an early version of the US corporate research arm of the company), Substations where he designed substations for HVDC and renewable facilities, and Power Consulting as a consultant, team leader and ultimately Head of Consulting, US.
He began his career in 1991 when he joined Shell Offshore as a facility engineer for offshore oil production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. From there he moved to General Electric’s utility consulting group in Schenectady, New York performing planning, electromagnetic transient and other studies for utilities and industrial customers.
John holds a MEng in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a BS in Electric and Computer Engineering from Brigham Young University.
