Amanda Rumsey is Vice President of WIRES, the industry trade association that promotes investment in the North American electric transmission system. Rumsey, who has served as a WIRES officer in various roles over the last 3 years, takes an active role in guiding the group’s regulatory policy agenda.
Rumsey is an RTO and Federal Regulatory Policy Manager for PPL Corporation (PPL), based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She is responsible for the identification, development and execution of strategic policy initiatives related to PPL’s transmission operations across its service areas. Rumsey has 22 years of experience working on policy issues impacting public utilities. Throughout her career, she has worked to build internal and external consensus across diverse stakeholder groups including lawmakers, regulators, consumer advocates and investor-owned utilities.
Prior to joining PPL, Rumsey was the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania House Consumer Affairs Committee and held several positions at the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Rumsey is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and received a B.S. in Business Management from St. Joseph’s University
