Kara Titus is an experienced community relations professional leading strategic community engagement and corporate philanthropy at Lightsource bp. Since joining the company in 2023, Kara has been building Lightsource bp’s community engagement practices through the development of stakeholder management tools, a cross-functional playbook of best practices, and co-chairing the newly formed lifecycle strategic community engagement steering committee.
Previously serving as a Community Relations Manager for Kansas Gas Service, a division of ONE Gas, she managed regional relationships across 20 counties, assisted with M&A of pipeline assets and managed municipal franchise negotiations. Kara's background includes municipal, state and federal governance experience with a background in communications and community outreach for the city of Abilene, KS, the State of Kansas and the United States Senate.
Kara got her B.A. in Government from Oral Roberts University (2012) and her Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas with a certificate in Performance Management (2019). She was named a Next Gen under 30 Professional in Kansas (2022) and a Top 15 under 40 Professional in the Greater Manhattan region (2024). Kara resides in Manhattan, KS.
