Alicia Knapp has served as President and CEO of BHE Renewables, a Berkshire Hathaway Energy business, since 2020. She has been with the Berkshire Hathaway Energy family of companies since 2001 and has held executive leadership roles in risk management, energy trading, renewable energy project development and gas delivery. Prior to this role, she served as the vice president of renewable generation for MidAmerican Energy Company.
Alicia and the team at BHE Renewables are leading the energy transition, delivering sustainable energy solutions in the forms of solar, wind, geothermal, natural gas and hydro projects throughout the Unites States. The company generates nearly 5,100 megawatts for both the wholesale market and for customers under long-term power purchase agreements. BHE Renewables is also developing innovative projects, such as a solar microgrid with battery storage to power an aerospace manufacturing hub in West Virginia. BHE Renewables is also advancing research and development of an environmentally safe domestic source of lithium in California.
Alicia earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Iowa. She currently serves on the board of directors for The Kraft Heinz Company and the American Clean Power Association. Alicia is also a proud executive sponsor of Energized Women, a Berkshire Hathaway Energy employee resource group.
