Michael Slowinske is the Director of Principal Engineering for UL’s Energy and Industrial Automation division. In this role, Mike works to identify safety risks in emerging technologies and drives standards development activity that supports safety science. Mike is an Environmental Engineer and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He has an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Over his 28 year career, he has represented UL on the U.S. National Committee for IECEx, as well as many NFPA, IEC, and other international standards committees and working groups. He has extensive experience in energy and explosion risk mitigation.
