Mike King is the director of strategy & solutions for the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program. In this role, he is at the helm of one of the largest energy efficiency portfolios in the Midwest. Leading strategic planning and execution for residential, commercial/industrial, and income-eligible energy efficiency programs, King has delivered offerings to customers who need energy-saving improvements for their homes and businesses for more than ten years. Nicor Gas, headquartered in Naperville, Illinois, serves more than 2.3 million customers in northern Illinois.
Beyond his role at Nicor Gas, King is a board member of the North American Gas Heat Pump Collaborative. He is also active within the Naperville community as a board member of KidsMatter, a proactive, youth-oriented human service organization, and currently serves as a Naperville Police and Fire commissioner. King is also a former Naperville Park District commissioner and Naperville Park Foundation board member.
King earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA in Operational Leadership from Aurora University. He is also an Illinois Licensed Real Estate Broker, an Illinois Certified Energy Auditor, Certified Lead Renovator, Certified Housing Quality Standard Inspector, and has earned certifications from the Building Performance Institute.
