Courtney Welch is Director of Policy at GoodLeap, a leading financial technology company focused on accelerating the deployment of sustainable home solutions from solar panels and batteries to energy-efficient HVAC and heat pumps. She oversees government relations and policy strategy at the state and federal levels.
Courtney brings nearly 20 years of experience in clean energy to GoodLeap. She has worked extensively in the areas of state and federal energy policy, utility energy efficiency and renewable programs, and decarbonization initiatives. Courtney came to GoodLeap after leading the Policy & Strategy team for SunPower covering policy and regulatory matters across the Mid-west, Rockies and Southwest and also federal programs including numerous IRA funding opportunities. Prior to that she worked directly with electric and gas utilities, across the US and Canada, as Director of Distributed Energy Resources & Electrification Strategy at E Source. Her experience also includes policy and project development with cities, counties, states, and federal agencies while at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. She also directly supported clean energy initiatives with state legislators while working with the National Conference of State Legislatures. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and International Relations from Bowdoin College, and a Masters in Energy Law and Policy from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
