Silicon carbide is rapidly transforming the power electronics industry and can dramatically improve the performance of solar inverters. In this session, you’ll hear from experts from NC State University, a leader in developing new applications for wide bandgap semiconductors. We’ll provide a basic introduction to the material properties that enable high efficiencies and high power density and the financial impact of these improvements. This session will also describe some of the design challenges faced by solar inverter manufacturers as they adopt silicon carbide.
