TechTalk: Deploying Residential Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Bidirectional EV Chargers

Bidirectional Energy was awarded a CEC REDWDS grant to deploy one of the the first wide-scale residential vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charger virtual power plant (VPP) in California. This presentation will share the the process of customer acquisition, technology development, installation, utility interconnection, and early findings of charger participation in energy markets. As part of the project, half of the V2G electric vehicle (EV) chargers will be deployed in homes in low-income and disadvantaged areas within California, so there will be additional insights shared on equity of V2G deployment. This presentation will also share insights into the collaboration with California IOUs as well as key charger manufacturers and installation electricians.
