Utility scale PV systems are currently limited to a maximum system voltage of 1500 volts dc due to the limitations in PV equipment, but this is changing. This session will demonstrate the potential cost savings of increasing system voltage to 2000 volts dc, the changes needed to PV equipment standards, the technical hurdles that must be addressed by manufacturers, and safety issues that must be considered.
