Owners/Developers initiate several due diligence efforts during project development. Flood risk is normally determined by a conducting a Hydrology Study. For some projects, the study is conducted early in due diligence, but for others the study is not conducted until design. This presentation will discuss the importance of understanding flood risk in project development, the technical analyses necessary to determine flood risk, and the conclusions that can, and cannot, be drawn from the results of the technical analyses in determining project viability.
