Sr. Director of Product CPower Energy Baltimore, Maryland, United States
While a growing number of organizations are deploying distributed energy resources (DERs), a minority leverage their full potential by integrating them into Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) to provide grid services and generate additional revenue streams, a trend supported by public and private sectors aiming to triple VPP capacity by 2030. Maximizing participation in VPPs from the outset of DER projects not only facilitates financing by creating new revenue streams but also enables asset owners to better quantify the benefits for the grid, community, and overall project, increasing its value and the likelihood of funding and broader success. In this presentation, CPower will discuss the growing demand for VPPs as well as revenue opportunities and community benefits of DERs participating in VPPs and share best practices on how planning ahead for VPP participation can maximize project value.
