This paper aims to highlight the benefits of combining high-tech solar generation with low-cost, scalable thermal LDES. We will discuss a first and largest-of-its-kind pilot project in Australia, explaining the different building blocks of the innovative system. This will enable to demonstrate the differentiation and key benefits of this generation and storage solution. From 24/7 green power access on demand, to multiple GWh of storage (from days to weeks of storage), with a high RTE, high capacity factor and lowest levelized costs of solar and storage (LCOSS).
