The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) and DOE national laboratories are excited to convene the fourth meeting of the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) and workshop for the Securing Solar for the Grid (S2G) program. The goal of S2G is to ensure energy system security and safety as high numbers of solar photovoltaics (PV) and other forms of distributed energy resources (DERs) and inverter-based resources (IBRs) are integrated onto the grid. Through this collaborative effort, four national labs, DOE offices, and industry leaders will come together to address gaps in standard cybersecurity requirements, improve education and workforce development, and develop a cybersecurity tool kit and supply chain security solutions. Researchers will present with industry counterparts on the major research tasks within the S2G program including: DER Cybersecurity Standards and Certifications; DER Risk Assessments & Mitigation; DER Supply Chain Assessment; Network Monitoring Tools and Analysis; and Training and Workforce Development. Ample time for discussion and Q&A for each topic area will be provided, as well as for soliciting ideas and feedback to inform future research.
