Traditionally, onsite backup generation has been powered by carbon heavy fuels. But this is changing, just as growing grid challenges are driving residential demand for resilience solutions. In 2022, 10% of new U.S. residential PV systems included battery storage. Thanks to changing market conditions, behind-the-meter (BTM) solar+storage systems are becoming a viable alternative to fossil generators.
